A veteran television executive recently having completed one of his most impressive reasonability's by serving as Chairman and CEO of the Television Academy has transitioned to Vice President of Talent Development & Inclusion for DET.
Prior to his current position Washington had previously served a 10-year stint at The Walt Disney Studios where he held the position of Vice President of production. In addition to his responsibilities as a studio executive, Washington also served as Director and 2nd Unit director for multi-seasons of Honey I Shrunk the Kids the TV Series.
Washington's Disney experience also included launching production units for the international divisions that reached over 40 countries throughout Europe, South America, and Asia. He established production units for Disney, which featured local hosts introducing Disney Animations; Carmen San Diego and produced specials from the United States Parks and Euro Disney.
He served as the executive producer and director for multiple scripted series for The Disney channel including "The Jersey" and "Phil of the Future". As a production executive he has supervised multi-million-dollar budgets and award-winning productions ranging from dramas, independent films and talk to live sports and comedy, and non-scripted series.
Washington served as Executive Producer of the CBS television show The Amazing Race. His work on this adventure/ reality-TV show has resulted in seven Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, Washington received the PGA's Producers Guild Award and has been nominated for numerous other awards throughout his career.
