The Disney Entertainment Television's (DET) Directing Program guarantees episodes to first-time TV directors on Disney Entertainment’s scripted series.
Now in its 22nd year, the DET Directing Program has launched the careers of many established television directors, including: Pete Chatmon (Reasonable Doubt); Jaffar Mahmood (Young Sheldon); Nzingha Stewart (How to Get Away With Murder, A Million Little Things); Zetna Fuentes (Grey’s Anatomy, Jane the Virgin); Tessa Blake (The Rookie: Feds, CSI); Jude Weng (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend); and Seith Mann (Let the Right One In).
ABOUT THE DET DIRECTING PROGRAM
The DET Directing Program is a highly selective, annual TV initiative that guarantees episodes to first-time TV directors on DET’s scripted series. In addition to being guaranteed an episode on their assigned series, Program Directors receive professional development, mentorship, shadowing opportunities, and access to the company’s creative executives, producers, showrunners, and program alumni. In 2022, the program expanded into the daytime scripted space, with potential activations in DET unscripted anticipated in 2023.
